PACKAGE TO MEET COMPUTER LITERACY TARGET |

A company has come up with a novel concept to meet the
fast growing e-revolution sweeping Brunei Darussalam.
Named "CONCEPTS", the brain behind this is the Concepts
Commercial Suppliers (CCS), and its computers are locally
assembled and tested.
The local firm says it has a goal, that is, to help Brunei
attain 100 per cent computer literacy with a view to enabling
the country meet the challenges of internet in the era
of Information Communication Revolution, and exploring
and establishing "commercial percentage of computer users
in Brunei Darussalam". |

A Company spokesman noted that computer business is Brunei
has a bright future. We are introducing a "CONCEPTS" packages
(Value Series and Professional Series) to meet the 100
per cent computer literacy target among Bruneians, he
said.
Through our hire purchase scheme that has a tie-up with
TAIB and Islamic Bank of Brunei, confident students, as
also government staff can make use of our scheme and have
their own personal computers with ease," he told News
Express.
The hire purchase scheme will provide qualified applicants
a loan limit of B$ 3,500 each. |

Applicants
must first get the pre-application forms from CCS and
they will be advised for quotations on any model of computers
they want.
Students and government staffs will have to produce their
identity cards, original pay-slips, bank books or bank
statements, in order to apply.
The interest rates charged are between 5 per cent and
10 per cent, and applications are clear on the consideration
of age, job title and the existing loans with other banks.
Approved loans will get their new PCs on the same day
or the following day. However, deposits are required if
the hire purchase exceeds $3,500. The customers would
have to settle the balance.
